Maybe, maybe a bit more 'sizzzzzle' on the Sunrise, but I could be imagining things. Audacity revealed essentially no difference between it and the grey-market Sunrise issue, and listening to them briefly I didn't hear anything clearly different. I also got the Griffin issue of Quark, Strangeness & Charm (the box set). Still, the remaster has what I consider to be essential bonus tracks so its a tough call in the end. Not "smack you in the face" better, but noticeable. The remaster doesn't sound bad but in direct comparison the One Way sounds better (the remaster sounds a bit sucked out). I was surprised looking at the waveforms in Audacity, as the One Way was louder.but this was due to the NR used on the remaster, which actually toned it down a bit. Second, I recently picked up the One Way edition of In Search Of Space and compared it to the '97 remaster. Sounds essentially the same as the '97 issue (which I thought was fine), but returns the album to its full running length (ie, Brainstorm is not trimmed). Figured this was the best thread to provide some info.įirst, for those looking to pick up Space Ritual, the deluxe edition (CD/DVD) is awesome.
